Information:

The British Museum houses one of the most comprehensive collections of human history, antiquities and culture from all corners of the globe, and is a free admission museum. Located in Bloomsbury, in the London Borough of Camden, the building is characterised by a Greek revival facade, based on the temple of Athena Polias. From the humble beginnings of naturalist and physician, Sir Hans Sloane's collection of curiosities, the Museum now houses over 13 million artefacts representing all cultures of the world, both ancient and modern. The collections are divided into a number of dedicated departments including Ancient Egypt and Sudan, which boasts the world's largest collection of Egyptian antiquities outside of Cairo, including the Rosetta Stone and the Department of Prints and Drawings, which includes works by Da Vinci, Raphael, Rembrandt and Turner. Three Underground tube stations are within walking distance of the Museum - Holborn, Tottenham Court and Russell Square.
