Information:

The fastest sailing ship of her day, Cutty Sark is billed as 'the world's last tea clipper'. She is berthed in dry dock in Greenwich to the east of London, and has served as a 'museum ship' since 1954. Sadly, this proud vessel, which has weathered many storms since her launch in Scotland in 1869, was partially destroyed by fire in 2007. Although closed to the public while undergoing restoration, she remains a popular tourist attraction. As work proceeds on restoring the ship, her dock is still being utilised for educational and exhibition purposes. The ship is due to reopen in time for the London Olympic Games in 2012. To reach Cutty Sark, take the Underground Jubilee Line to North Greenwich station (Dome) and change to London bus 188 or 129. Alternatively, take the Jubilee Line to Canary Wharf and change to the Docklands Light Railway, which services the site.
