Renowned American art dealer, Larry Gagosian, owns and operates seven top-notch contemporary art galleries, which are sited in New York, Beverley Hills, London, Rome and Athens. Gagosian started out selling posters on the university campus in Los Angeles, and today is rated as one of the most influential figures on the international art scene. The main London Gagosian Gallery, in Britannia Street, is a tastefully converted garage, designed by architects Caruso St John, and offers a cavernous 1,400 square metres of naturally lighted white exhibition space across three connected galleries. Exhibited artists include some of the most famous names in the world of contemporary art, such as Andy Warhol, Damien Hirst and Jasper Johns. The Gagosian also has smaller premises in Davies Street, Mayfair. The Gagosian Gallery is open from 10am to 6pm Tuesday to Saturday. Kings Cross St Pancras Underground station is about seven minutes walk from the gallery.
