Information:
Pollock's Toy Museum features a colourful and nostalgic array of toys from all over the world, safely stored in a number of cluttered bedrooms in two adjoining 18th and 19th-century homes, in the heart of London. Dedicated to Benjamin Pollock, reputed to be the last of the Victorian Toy Theatre printers, the collection was started by Marguerite Fawdry, who ended up buying the entire stock of toys instead of the one principal piece needed for her son's toy theatre. The toys are beautifully arranged in dedicated bedrooms according to their genre, with a diverse collection of board games, optical, mechanical and constructions toys, English tin toys and puppets, wax and composition dolls, teddy bears and, of course, doll's houses. The London Underground stations of Goodge Street, Warren Street, Tottenham Court Road and Euston Square are within easy walking distance of the popular museum, and 23 bus routes service the area.
