Information:
Dedicated to bringing contemporary art to the people, and acting as a springboard for new artists launching their careers, the Saatchi Gallery is one of London's busiest and most popular galleries. The Gallery occupies a vast building - the former Duke of York's HQ - in central London, on Kings Road, Chelsea, where it moved in 2008 after starting life in lesser premises. The Gallery offers a continual series of curated exhibitions, usually featuring previously unseen artists, with free admission. It works closely with media sponsors to draw the widest audience possible, attracting around 6,000 visitors each year, and it has a bookshop and cafe. The Saatchi Gallery opens seven days a week from 10am to 6pm, and is sited a few minutes' walk from Sloane Square Underground station, on the District and Circle lines. It is also easily reached from bus stops on King's Road, and mainline and Underground Victoria Station.
